God's Promises to King David Can be Yours

I was truly stunned by my evening Bible reading last night starting from Chapter 55 of the Book of Isaiah because I found one of those awesome reasons why God commanded every father of His chosen people to memorize His laws and tell them to their children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether they’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night or getting up in the morning (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 CEV).

The following was what I read from Isaiah 55:3-5, “Pay close attention! Come to Me and live. I will promise you the eternal love and loyalty that I promised David. I made him the leader and ruler of the nations; he was My witness to them. You will call out to nations you have never known. And they have never known you, but they will come running because I am the Lord, the Holy God of Israel, and I have honored you.”

What a wondrous promise we have from our Maker so that if we truly believe God, you can’t resist but come to Him with exceeding joy and utmost thanksgiving telling our loved ones first and all our encounters along the road to eternity about living for God. Ours is just to do our menial part to the end while God will do the impossible for us to see His glory. The honor that God gave to King David will be the same honor that can be yours.

Joseph the dreamer endured his suffering as his caravan to become the Prime Minister of Egypt. Father Abraham offered his own beloved son to God and become the Father of Faith while King David started his life as a common shepherd until God promoted him to become the third king of the United Monarchy of Israel and Judah. Everyone has to pass the test of faith to experience God’s promise of true and lasting abundance in life.

God’s promise in Deut. 28:13 is infinitely dependable. “The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.”
