Be Wise
Another fact that I realized why God warned us to fix our focus on what God wants in our lives (Hebrews 12:2) is to be always aware of the cunning ways of Satan to make us disobedient and be separated from God.

We know from the Scripture that God created our first parents, Adam and Eve like Him, not like an angel nor any other living creature but like God Himself. From the beginning, we are above all other creatures in beauty, power and standing. But the perennial story from the Garden of Eden is God’s way cautioning us to be wise so as not to be carried away by Satan’s subtle and wicked tricks to derail man away from God. What a great privilege God has given us, to be His crowning glory of all His creation as His Masterpiece (Eph. 2:10) not to suffer nor worry, but to enjoy God forever. But because Adam and Eve allowed Satan to deviate their focus from God’s purpose and believed his lies by twisting the truth, they succumbed to their horrible fall.

Be alert because Satan’s strategy in the Garden of Eden did not change until now reason why this lost world is getting worse and worst. From the beginning, Adam and Eve must have already known that God created them different and higher than any other creature, they are rulers like God (Gen. 1:26). But they desired what was not meant for them forgetting God’s warning. Because of Satan’s lies, they forgot that they were already like God and coveted the cause of their downfall, just like the deceiver who rebelled against God, by coveting His glory.

Now we know the glorious reason why Romans 8:28-30 was written as our blessed hope for eternity. It says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”

God’s glory was coveted by Satan that have caused his downfall and eternal damnation. But God himself prepared to give us glory in eternity by accepting the redemptive work of His Son Jesus Christ when we heard the Good News of His Saving Grace not through religion, not through prayer, not through good works so that no one can boast, but by accepting the Truth today and not tomorrow.

2Cor. 6:2, “For He says, 'In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.' I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.”
