Who is our True Master, SELF or JESUS?
One thing that keeps me wondering until now is knowing that some people believe that the Bible is God’s Word but they don’t read it. There are some who read it only to increase their knowledge but they don’t do what it says. Jesus said in Luke 6:46, “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?” James warned us in 1:22 saying, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” We read and study the Bible because it has the power to transform us, “The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double edged sword, dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thought and attitudes of the heart” (Heb. 4:12). I am not saying that we don’t sin anymore after reading the Bible but sin has no hold of us anymore because the Blood of Jesus is more than enough to wash away our sin so that the Holy Spirit who is in us can continue to change us into the likeness of Jesus from glory to glory (Gal. 3:5; 2Cor. 3:18).

Our journey in this world is our opportunity to fully surrender ourselves to the Lordship of Christ which was broken, back in the Garden of Eden. Our journey in this world is our opportunity to know who is our true master, SELF or JESUS? Be warned!

Jesus' stern warning in Matthew 7:21-23. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name and in Your name drive out demons and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!”

Know that we can rejoice at all times if Jesus is our Master. His compassion gives us hope that everything will go well with us like the dawning of the sun that shines brighter and brighter until midday.
