Are You Prepared for Eternity?
Remembering the life of the late Bro.Manny Quisumbing will always spark wonder and awe as it amazes me how God prepared him for eternity which is everybody’s ultimate goal in life.

Since God opened their place for a weekly Bible Study, He and his wife didn’t want to miss our weekly meetings anymore. Though they already accepted Jesus Christ as their Personal Lord and Savior during one of our studies, it was only after 7 years that they voluntarily destroyed all the images and related articles which are called in the Bible as abomination in the sight of our Almighty Creator. Then it was only after 12 years that they started joining our Sunday Worship in the Church. At that time, he was almost totally blind but nobody could stop him and his wife, Sis. Adel, from going to Church anymore. What was more amazing? I started feeling the Holy Spirit pricking the heart of Brother Manny to reach out the underprivileged children in the Philippines with God’s love and His abounding grace, so they too may be saved by believing and accepting Jesus Christ as their Personal Lord and Savior. With God’s guidance, He was able to partner with Evangelical Churches in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines and other socio-civic organizations to collaborate in a joint effort of propagating the Good News of salvation. Bro. Manny sponsored events for pastoral development participated by pastors and Church leaders.

Then like King David, when he had served God’s purpose in his own generation he died and was buried (Acts 13:36). King Solomon said, and the dust (our earthly body) returns to the ground it came from but our eternal spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Revelation 14:13) for our time to share His glory without end. Hallelujah!

What a great life Bro. Manny had, a life well spent on earth despite his physical disabilities. What a glorious life he had on earth worth emulating by all. Truly, when our life is connected to the Vine, we will not waste time and every opportunity to work on what really matters most in this temporal world for only what we have done for Christ will follow us to eternity. (1Corinthians 15:58).

As his mentor by God’s grace, my endless thanks to God comes with this memory of Brother Manny who heartily completed the work he received in the Lord (Colossians 4:17). Thank You, Abba Father for making Bro. Manny my Archippus. Your command in Colossians 4:17 is clear and compelling, “Tell Archippus (Manny Quisumbing): See to it that you complete the work you have received in the Lord.”

All praises, honor and glory to God alone forever and ever.

How about us? Are we prepared for eternity?
