Do You Think God Approves of What You Do?
I was using my computer while my wife was watching a movie from Netflix when suddenly I heard her saying that our very own Philanthropist and Senator Manny Pacquiao should watch this movie entitled, “Boyka”. It’s about a champion boxer who donated his winnings to a Church after defeating his opponent leading to his death inside the ring. Though the priest accepted his donation but he asked the boxer, “Do you think God approves of what you do? Violence will eat you.” The boxer answered, “It’s God’s gift for me. It’s a sin if I will not use it.”

How about you? Putting yourself in the shoes of a generous boxer how would you answer the question, “Do you think God approves of what you do?" I found the question as a good index of gauging or appraising ourselves how much do we really know God as who He is (Psalm 100:3a) in this time of apathy when people know God but have no heart for God.

Base your answer in light of 2Tim. 3:1-5b saying, “But know this: Hard times will come in the last days. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud . . . .unholy, unloving . . .brutal . . . reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. . .”

2Peter 1:10-11 which says, “Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.”
