The Imaginary "Purgatory" on Earth
King Solomon who was the wisest man who ever lived said, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. But fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7).

Some people don’t believe this because what they only know is that God is love which is true, forgetting the fact that God is also just. He will not leave the sinners unpunished. It is written in Numbers 14:18, “The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished.”

All the roots or beginning of all the physical laws from mathematics to relational boundaries can be traced to God’s flawless character so we have no excuses not to desire in our heart to embark on God’s vehicle that will bring us back to our eternal home which is perfect in beauty. Though the road is incredibly bumpy caused by sin but the hard trip is worth enduring to the end. It’s like watching a restless fish in a dry land until you put it back into the stream where it belongs.

Without fear or knowledge of the Biblical God people can be easily deceived by the cunning tricks of Satan so they worship God the way it pleases them as if God is not the Master of the whole universe and has nothing to do in their lives until they desperately need Him neglecting that hell is real, a lake of fire and burning sulfur (Rev. 21:8).

As a result, man was engendered to believe that cleansing and purification are yet to happen in an imaginary place called “purgatory” when in fact the real sense of the word will convince us that our condition here on earth is likened to a wide arena of what “purgatory” means, as God’s refinery of restoring our broken image back into His beautiful image marred by sin in the Garden of Eden. It’s like fish in a dry land finding its way back into the water to fully enjoy its existence.

If the visionary “purgatory” is true then Christ sacrificial death on the cross is useless . . . If prayer for the dead can save, then Christ redemptive work on the cross was meaningless. Christ’s resurrection from the dead defies all those lies and compels us to read the Bible, meditate on what it says so we can be free from all lies (John 8:31).
