Who is in Control of Your Life?
I was happy to hear from our new acquaintance yesterday when she told us that her son and daughter-in-law are born again Christians but I was astounded when she said that they don’t go to Church. I don’t want to judge them but the Bible is clear for us to know that once you become a child of God since the time you believed and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior (John 1:12), the Holy Spirit will bring you into the Body of Christ called Church, the gathering of believers (Acts 2:47; 1Cor. 12:12) so that together we all grow and mature (Hebrews 10:25) in the grace and knowledge of the Son of God (2Peter 3:18). I remember what the book of James 2:17 said, “Faith without work or action is dead.” James sternly warned us to show our faith in action if we truly have faith. If indeed you are born again Christian saved by God’s grace, work will surely follow in accordance to what God wants not what we want because of the Holy Spirit who is in us will enable us to do what is pleasing to God. Phil. 2:13 says, “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”

No wonder James 1:22 said we are only fooling ourselves if nothing has changed in our lives since the time we have known the truth that will set us free from all lies because our adamic nature is still the one controlling us and not the Holy Spirit.

When Eleonor and I were discussing about such kind of lifestyle, she simply ended by saying, “It’s easy to say we are born again but it is also easy to know if one is truly born again by their works (Matt. 7:16).”

Luke 6:46; Matt. 7:23, “Jesus said, ‘Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!’”

The Apostle Paul is warning us to examine our faith now (2Cor. 13:5) while the Apostle Peter wrote the purpose of storms in life so that we will know if our faith is genuine (1Peter 1:7).
