It is most fitting to remember today God’s wondrous love and amazing works which we don’t deserve yet He awesomely lavished on us so that we can call Him our Abba Father giving us the full assurance as His children that in this fallen world we are indestructible under the shadow of His wings (Rom. 8:31). We are immortal until God is done with His purposes in our lives on earth (Psa. 138:7-8). We are His delight that He rescued us from darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of His Son Jesus Christ (Col. 1:13). We are the reflection of His image being molded through the infinite power of the Holy Spirit (2Cor. 3:18) because He is determined to restore our image that was broken by sin in the Garden of Eden day by day and from glory to glory (Rom. 8:28-30).
On this Thanksgiving Day, let our imagination brings us back and reminisce with wonders what happened in Paradise before the fall of man and just give our grateful heart to God as we deeply seek and illumine ourselves with His infallible Word revealed in the Scripture to understand why He created us. It will strongly affirm why King Solomon said, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”
Even before He created Adam, the Paradise was already made perfect for his eternal abode. He did not ask for Eve but God so graciously gave her to him as his partner in life so that he won’t feel lonely. They didn’t desire the glory of a commanding officer but God called them to rule over all other living creatures in the Garden of Eden. They had nothing to ask because even before realizing their needs God who is All Knowing had already made them for their enjoyment and satisfaction until they covet what was not meant for them. King David is right saying, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want.” (Psa. 23:1). Just learn how to count what you have and not what you don’t have.
Man therefore in the beginning was free of stress, cares and anxieties under the Divine Providence of the Father, our Maker. Now, is there anything else that would make it hard for us to let God take the driver’s seat as we journey going back to our eternal and glorious destiny?
Col. 1:25-28, “The Apostle Paul said, ‘I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 8 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.’”
Let’s humbly come to God always with thanksgiving and praise for the Lord is good and His love endures forever, His faithfulness continues through all generations (Psalm 100:4-5).
